You really only need to do something if there's a problem, correct? Backuppc adheres to this and generally only sends mails if there's a problem. If for some reason you *really* need a constant stream of mail telling you everything is fine, and lulling you into ignoring all the mail from backuppc, some people have discussed this before on this mailing list.
