Hello Craig, It's been a while, I hope you're doing well.
I ran the smbclient command directly and it looks like a problem with
accented chars in Samba.
On each problematic client, the last file backuped contains an accented
char "Voisinage réseau" (Network Places) and it confuses smbclient.

I added a file Z.txt in the directory that is being backuped and it
works! :)

The "Voisinage réseau" line is still getting skewed but at least the
last two lines are right.
Looking at the samba source code, I'd guess that the problem has to do
with the iconv stuff done in lib/util/dprintf.c:d_vfprintf but I didn't
spend a lot of time looking...
