Old list emails suggest to patch smbclient or to disable AV software. Well, both is not a really good solution. Patching smbclient will release it from being automatically updated through the repositories channel. Or need to patch it every time manually once it was updated. No good. Disabling AV manually for backup is a bad idea, too. As any manual step will be missed leading to not having a backup when you need it :-( As the last reported issues are from aroun 2004 might I ask if there is meanwhile a better solution to fix this issue permanently?
