I'm sorry, I thought you actually wanted help from contributors who know a thing or two or three about how BackupPC works and not just hear from people who pursued the same "foolish idea" (your wording). Perhaps next time you should phrase your request more precisely if you are only interested in hearing from people who succeeded or failed in going down a path that those of us who actually know the working of BackupPC think to be "foolish"...
