Best you test that. :)
I don't know the details of how you have it set up, but one of the possible
(tho I think unlikely) failure modes is that BackupPC fills up your
filesystem and runs you out of space. (Depends on exactly where that device
is mounted - if BPC is expecting a certain directory tree is may in fact
fail to run, but I don't know how gracefully it fails).
