That is a function call I added to my init script that runs the following commands:
# mkdir -p /var/run/BackupPC # chown [backuppc-user]:[backuppc-group] /var/run/BackupPC You can run them manually before attempting to start BackupPC to test if it solves the problem. If it works then you can add the function to the init script sample provided in the BackupPC install directory.
