Ah, very good. Looked at install folder and blat indeed is there. Found in bin/
, a file called notify.bat that would notify a help desk email address gets
used by that. It's unconfigured for mailing but exec stuff isn't commented out.
Will do so for security reasons. Thanks for the heads up. Not sure about the
needs of installation at all for BackupPC use?

I haven't looked in detail at the installer but from the AV report I
suspect it includes the freeware blat commandline mailer. I'm puzzled why
the installer would need that. Perhaps the packager neglected to disable a
bundling option to remove that.
