Sorry, there seems to be a misunderstanding.
I was actually referring to the possibility to build your own packages,
see https://github.com/backuppc/backuppc/wiki/Build-Your-Own-Packages .
However, I have build some packages that you can download and experiment
with:
Ubuntu 16.04:
*

*
https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/backuppc4/Ubuntu1604/backuppc_4.1.1_amd64.deb
*
https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/backuppc4/Ubuntu1604/rsync-bpc_3.0.9.6_amd64.deb
Ubuntu 16.10 - used by me:
*
https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/backuppc4/Ubuntu1610/backuppc-xs_0.53_amd64.deb
*
https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/backuppc4/Ubuntu1610/backuppc_4.1.1_amd64.deb
*
https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/backuppc4/Ubuntu1610/rsync-bpc_3.0.9.6_amd64.deb
Cheers,
Raoul
