After relabeling the external drive with restorecon (it ran overnight to label two million files), the web interface can now access the logs.
I haven't been able to use the mount options context= or defcontext=, as mount attempts with those set in fstab result in the drive not mounting. I've no idea what I'm doing wrong there.
