Hi Pelle,
for Debian and it's derivatives like Ubuntu, Mint, etc. I suggest you
follow https://github.com/backuppc/backuppc/wiki/Build-Your-Own-Packages
Even as it will still take some time for the official packages to be
available, this will help with an easy upgrade path!
