I've recently had an SSD drive start failing on one of my machines. I
detected it when Chrome crashed when starting to type a URL, which I
guess made it hit one of the bad files in its cache.

When I look at backuppc, I see that it detected 11 bad files during
it's (very recent) full backup.

(If I browse that backup, the failed files seem to be filled from a
previous backup. This surprises me a bit, since I'd have expected a
full backup to be a literal snapshot of the disk, and not filled at
all. But that's not really what my question is about.)

What I'm wondering: is there a setting I could enable which would cause
email to be sent when certain (or any), errors are detected? It would
have been nice to get an earlier warning of this failure. Even looking
at the host summary page, I have to scroll down and look at the Xfer Error
Summary to see these errors. Something at the top of the page would be
nice.

p.s. the drive is an M.2 drive in a 10 year old constant use chromebox.
