Interesting. I'm not sure now when extended attribute support was 
introduced, but I'm astonished it was in 1.36 - I believed that was 
much newer. I would even claim that it's only included since 3.0 as, 
in 2006, I implemented a script for a customer to dump and, if 
necessary, restore extended attributes to/from a file for backup. 
ACLs, on the other hand, were supported a long time ago - since about 
2005, which would align with the version 1.36 you mention.

Anyway, my test was mostly to make sure that, after the serious rework 
in that area, my own backup and recovery needs were satisfied, and, 
regarding extended attributes, they are now.
