Hi everyone, I am just getting introduced to the bacula community having
installed centralized backups on my home network just recently. One of the
infrastructure components I had wanted to put out there was a ³self help²
restore capability for my wife and kids. I looked at every tool I could find
and they all had either too much admin, or were just too heavy an install.
So, I was looking at building my own quick and dirty thing. Now my
questions: I basically am planning to use a combination of database access
and some director communications. The db side is all good. It¹s the director
comm¹s I am struggling with.
I am able to
1. Authenticate
2. Run some simple commands, but they are sporadic
What I was hoping for was some document, or outline on the actual
communications that go on between bconsole (which I assumed too be the best
place to emulate from) and the director. There are some nice write ups in
the tech manual for the comms betwee ndirector and fd, fd and sd, director
and sd... But nothing with respect to bconsole...
