Greetings all, I've got an old Win98SE laptop running the bacula-fd (backing up to a FreeBSD bacula server). For months, it's been like backup bliss! No issues whatsoever! Last week I moved the laptop from an ethernet NIC to a wireless NIC (and hence, to a different subnet on my LAN), and now I'm getting authentication errors that I can't seem to get around.
After the switch to the wireless NIC, I did the following: - Released the IP address on the ethernet port of the laptop, grabbed a new IP for the wifi port (which my dhcp server auto-registers with bind) and rebooted it. - Updated the Client block in bacula-dir.conf (on the server) to the new address of the laptop (and restarted dir/sd/fd on the server, for good measure). After that, the laptop showed up in forward and reverse name lookups correctly. No bacula passwords changed, so I figured I was set. However, every job since then has resulted in a failed authentication error. I bumped up debug to 100 and turned on trace, and this is what I get: <<<<<<<<<< laptop-fd trace >>>>>>>>>> laptop-fd: ../../lib/bnet.c:1128 who=client host=10.0.0.2 port=36387 laptop-fd: ../../findlib/find.c:68 init_find_files ff=10e2c48 laptop-fd: ../../filed/job.c:189 <dird: Hello Director lister-dir calling laptop-fd: ../../filed/job.c:205 Executing Hello command. laptop-fd: ../../lib/cram-md5.c:52 send: auth cram-md5 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ssl=0 laptop-fd: ../../lib/cram-md5.c:68 Authenticate OK yx9/S/Uzt5/gR4V0L2c3iD laptop-fd: ../../lib/cram-md5.c:97 cram-get: auth cram-md5 <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> ssl=0 laptop-fd: ../../lib/cram-md5.c:114 sending resp to challenge: q2/hh4wXMyU9b4+tw9xleD laptop-fd: ../../filed/job.c:189 <dird: JobId=14 Job=laptop.2006-06-05_19.47.09 SDid=14 SDtime=1149489971 Authorization=LNOE-CDNK-HDMD-FLAF-DFEO-MNHI-BNLJ-INAP laptop-fd: ../../filed/job.c:205 Executing JobId= command. laptop-fd: ../../filed/job.c:189 <dird: fileset laptop-fd: ../../filed/job.c:205 Executing fileset command. Since no passwords had changed (and it was working fine), I did the other suggestions of rebooting, restarting, etc. Nothing has worked. Obviously the laptop can see the director (and, hence the storage daemon since they are running on the same machine). I can also manually telnet to the storage daemon from the laptop, so it's not a networking issue. Any idea what might be going on here? I'm running 1.38.9 on all machines. Thanks for any insights! Cheers, -Wes _______________________________________________ Bacula-users mailing list Bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net https://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/bacula-users
