Hi Pedro, thanks for your reply. You are right in your suggestion that one StorageDaemon runs on a USB rack. But this one only does an additional weekly backup. The daily backups are written on an SCSII harddrive that is mounted in the same server as the director.
I think that I found the problem yesterday as my restore job finally got executed after about some 2-3 hours. I still have to do some more measurements but to me it looks like the Gzip compression that I use takes bacula a lot of time to find the files that I want to restore.
