The Bacula documentation entry for the unit's compatibility should have a
LARGE warning next to it.

This kind of thing is unacceptable in an individual tape drive, let alone
a library.

Agreed. I had a similar problem with my Exabyte magnum 224 yesterday. The drive would not unload the tape in drive 0. Peeking through the air holes in the front I saw that the tape was indeed in the drive but the robot was not attempting to unload it at all. After a power cycle of the autoloader the tape came out on the first try. To me this is an unacceptable behavior but at least there was a fix...
