Thanks for all the helpful responses, that gives me a better idea of how the volumefiles field is used. Wierd thing is the btape test and fill commands run without a hitch with the bacula-sd.conf I'm using. I've found a way to work around it so I can get some backups while I get it working right. I guess I'll keep playing with settings for the drive and taking a closer look at the debugging output for bacula-sd.
