Thanks for the suggestion :) I found this:
http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Tips_Suggestions.html#SECTION0038160000 000000000000 In the bacula documentation and will give it a try to see how it behaves. Btw, anyone with "edit" rights to the bacula documentation might want to repair the broken link to the mtx-changer script specified in the above link: Old and busted: http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/Tips_Suggestions.html#mtx-changer.txt New hotness: http://www.bacula.org/rel-manual/mtx-changer.txt Thanks again Steve. -----Original Message----- From: Michel Meyers [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: 19 February 2007 12:31 To: Steve Barnes Cc: bacula-users@lists.sourceforge.net Subject: Re: [Bacula-users] Auto-eject/mount tape when full & notify? -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Steve Barnes wrote: > Hi List > > I need to simplify tape swapping and "the tape is full" notifications > from bacula. > > To this end, I need to perform the following: > > 1. And using that, you could even achieve point 1 (check the message, if it states that a tape is full etc invoke the eject in your script). I wouldn't know anything to take care of step 3 though. I ended up creating a small web iface for the users which looked as follows: 1. eject tape (clicking this link Bacula would unmount the tape and an eject would be launched) 2. <not-clickable> insert the required tape 3. finish operation (this link invoked a mount on the console) I then set up the messaging to send SMB messages (smbclient -M ) to the PCs of the people in charge and instructed them to run through the web-iface, to which I placed a bookmark onto their desktop, when such a message appears.
