Probably OpenSUSE, right? But that's not important now, I think. IIRC, 
that OS version should be most reliable because Kern developed on it :-)

If that happens after restarting all deamons, or even the system, 
something's broken.

Try running the daemons with debug output enabled and captured (like 
'bacula-dir -d 400 -c /etc/... >> /var/log/bacula-dir.log') and try to 
reproduce it. Also, creating a backtrace of the programs could help the 
developers. If you're unfamiliar with gdb (like me) you can use the 
btraceback script.

If you can reproduce this probem, it should be reported at 
bugs.bacula.org, I think.
