If this is the case, then there would be no reason to be able to change
the storage device of a job with the "mod" option at runtime... or am I
missing something?

I will poke around on the archive and see if I can find the past
discussion, but it would seem to me that if there is an option to
redirect a job to a new storage device, then that option should work.
