I am using this for DLT-Tapes:

command:
$ barcode -i labels.txt -e code39 -c -u "mm" -g "48x19" -t 3x10+20+42 -o bc.ps

labels.txt:
FR-1.1
FR-2.1
FR-3.1
FR-4.1
FR-5.1
JAN-1
APR-1
JUL-1
OKT-1
MO-1
DI-1
MI-1
DO-1

---SNIP---
---SNIP---
---SNIP---
---SNIP---

bc.ps ist the PostScript printfile. You can send it to your printer.
