Hi
Version: 1.38.11
OS: Solaris 10
Device type: file
Catalog: MySQL
My backups run perfectly - I backup about 20 systems with
a total of 2TB to file volumes, each one 2GB max. I have
5 deifferent devices (i.e. directories of volumes).
I used to store the volumes on a large local disk, but now
store to an NFS-mounted NAS box.
When I run restore, the initial interaction is fine, but
when bacula goes off to the storage daemon to actually
retrieve the file it is taking more than 24 hours to
restore a small file.
"status storage", gives this:
Device status:
Device "default_fs" (/backup/pools/default) is not open or does not exist.
Device "bbr_fs" (/backup/pools/bbr) is not open or does not exist.
Device "dmr_fs" (/backup/pools/dmr) is mounted with
Volume="dmr-inc-0192" Pool="dmr_incremental"
Total Bytes Read=233,726,976 Blocks Read=3,623 Bytes/block=64,512
Positioned at File=0 Block=233,662,649
Device "windows_fs" (/backup/pools/windows) is not open or does not exist.
Device "catalog_fs" (/backup/pools/catalog) is not open or does not exist.
====
In Use Volume status:
dmr-inc-0192 on device "dmr_fs" (/backup/pools/dmr)
====
The "bytes read" is increasing, but far more slowly
than seems possible. Here it has taken 12 hours to
read 230MB!
I wondered if bacula was being confused at have to read
a file volume from NFS storage and was doing something really
odd?
My device settings are:
Device {
Name = dmr_fs
Device Type = File
Media Type = File
Archive Device = /backup/pools/dmr
LabelMedia = yes;
Random Access = yes
Requires Mount = no
AutomaticMount = yes
RemovableMedia = no
AlwaysOpen = no
}
Everything looks right, it just takes forever to
restore!
Please help?

Cheers
Jules.
