"signature = MD5":
        Stores MD5 file hashes in the director catalog, and can be used to
        validate file hashes. It's not a 'signature' per se, just a hash.

"PKI Signature = yes"
        Stores a RSA signature in the data streamed to the storage daemon.
        Signatures are validated by the File Daemon, as files are extracted.
        PKI Encryption implies PKI Signature, but signing can be used
        independently of encryption (ie, unencrypted, but signed files).
