Y'all will laugh but I have tried and tried but I am lost on how to backup to tape. When I run "/root/bacula/bin/btape -c bacula-sd.conf /dev/nst0", the test runs correctly. I have tried to set up a tape job but it stops with this message:
16-Oct 06:05 localhost-sd JobId 227: Job GROUP_Tape_only_files.2008-10-13_23.05.07 waiting. Cannot find any appendable volumes. Please use the "label" command to create a new Volume for: Storage: "Sony_SDX-400V" (/dev/nst0) Pool: Tape Backups Pool - weekly Media type: 8mmAIT-1 My goal is to have four tapes.....each gets a full backup every Friday night. The next Friday, that tape gets pulled and Bacula just backs up to the new tape that night. I think the pertinent sections from bacula-dir.conf are shown below: Job { Name = "GROUP Tape only files" Type = Backup Level = Full Client = localhost-fd FileSet = "GROUP Tape files" Schedule = WeeklyCycle Storage = "Tape Backups" Pool = "Tape Backups Pool - weekly" Messages = Standard } Storage { Name = "Tape Backups" Password = xxxx Address = 1x.xx.xx.xx SDPort = 9103 Device = Sony_SDX-400V Media Type = 8mmAIT-1 } Pool { Name = "Tape Backups Pool - weekly" Pool Type = Backup Volume Retention = 30 days Recycle = yes AutoPrune = yes # Maximum Volume Jobs = 1 Use Volume Once = yes } Can anyone help get me started?
