Here is a slight expansion of steps 6 and 7:
(6) run a restore on the server to restore the directory with your
partition information to /tmp. This directory should have
the info with your partition layout and FS options.
(7) recreate partitions (with fdisk) and FSs (with mkfs and mkswap)
based on above.
