Hi Not much Bacula related. More Linux general and a bit Ubuntu. Same recipe as always in cases like this: 1. perform a "purge" (dpkg) 2. remove anything manually if not everything was purged/removed/deleted: that's why you want to do this from console and not from a GUI..... 3. check the install script of manual install 4. remove files/dirs mentioned 5. install from the repository. If the required version is not there and an other repository which contains a backport assuming you trust the (quality of the) repository-host and package builder. If not build the package from the package source and install with dpkg
As you can see: this has nothing to do with Bacula. It is packaging/sysadmin/distro related.
