I believe that each side needs to present a cert with the CN set to
its hostname; otherwise, the verification fails.  And that's why, I
think, in the case where you've both sides of the socket on the same
host, the certs need to be the same.

As I said, that's how I've got things on my machine, which is running
5.0.1. If that's not working, I'm afraid I'm not sure what to suggest.
