I'm not sure how mySQL got installed
I think it got pulled in when I used
Synaptic to install the bacula meta-package. I had previously installed the
tools. mySQL server is running after normal boot (every time)
as are
bacula-sd and bacula-fd. Both root and bacula users can access mySQL via
the mySQL Browser and Administrator tools. I see no Catalog "MyCatalog",
database "bacula" in mySQL Administrator. I do not know how it should (have
been?) be created. I attached 2 screenshots to the post/e-mail not knowing
whether the list allows attachments.
Adding a mySQL user on another host does not allow that other user to access
this mySQL server. I didn't pursue why
I really only want to use this one
for backups.
Still floundering.
Thanks,
Stan Berry
