So can I. Under normal circumstances this error is what you see if a 
physical tape library is not ready or offline.

I submitted some patches to Baculasystems for the mtx-changer script a 
few months back which test changer readiness before continuing with any 
load/unload commands. These may or may not make it into release versions.

What does " tapeinfo -f  /dev/scsi/changer/c4t5002188108A05117d0 " return?
