Diese Nachricht unkommentiert zu forwarden ist etwas schwach. Daher darf
ich meine Sichtweise dazu posten, um den Aufruf nicht so einfach im Regen
der bagasch postings stehen zu lasen:
Früher verwendeten wir Telefonmodems, die das Internet über die
Audioverbindungen
einer Telefonleitung in die Haushalte reichen liessen. Irgendwann hat sich das
umgedreht: viele Kunden haben nun Internet-Modems, die ein Telefonat über
Datenverbindungen übertragen. Ein logischer Schritt. Denn ob die Umsetzung in
der
Vermittlungsstelle oder schon beim Teilnehmer erfolgt ist letzlich egal. Die
Transportleitungen sind im Festnetz-Fall stabil: eine Telefonleitung oder ein
Fernsehkabel.
Schwieriger wird es, dieses Prinzip auf Mobiltelefonie zu übertragen. Das
Konzept heißt LTE. Zunächst wird es für sauschnelles Internet im Mobilbereich
eingesetzt, im nächsten Schritt muss konsequenterweise VoLTE, also Telefonie
über diese mobile Internetverbindung, folgen. Eine Mobilverbindung wird aber
niemals so stabil sein wie ein Kabel, daher wird man im LTE-Bereich eine
"Class-apartheid", wie es der gezeigte Aufruf ausführt einführen müssen,
sonst käme es zu Telefonieabbrüchen. Jeder der Skype, Hangout oder ähnliches
auf einem Smartphone installiert hat wird nachvollziehen können, was ich
meine...
In der Anfangszeit kommt man zwar mit einem Fallback auf das normale GSM-Netz
durch, aber der Druck, die LTE-Kapazitäten auszuweiten, wird damit sicher
rasch steigen - dazu muss nur vermeldet werden, dass ohnedies "alle nur mehr
mit LTE telefonieren" und "das GSM-Netz weiterhin in ausreichendem Maße zur
Verfügung" stehen würde. Dann kann man mehr und mehr Frequenzen von GSM auf
LTE umstellen, zu Lasten stabilen GSM-Verbindungen. Und zu Gunsten der
"slow lanes" für Wenigzahler.
Ja, natürlich öffnet die neue Technologie dem "censorship" Tür und Tor, aber
dafür ermöglicht sie auch Live-Streams von Demonstrationen. Demand Progress
sollte ein wenig darauf achten, die eigene Position nicht durch unreflektiertes
Wutbürgertum zu schwächen... Es geht nicht um "slow lanes" - es geht wenn man
so will letztlich um das Menschenrecht auf voice Telefonie, aber so weit sieht
Demand Progress nach meiner Einschätzung noch nicht.
