Hi Dave,
Thanks for saying what I have been feeling for so long. I feel exactly the same way. I will be very interested in the replies you get.
Along this line I have a question that I have been waiting to ask the older Iranians in our local community but haven’t found the right time. For anyone who has lived through the Khomeini or other eras of widespread oppression and killing – how did you stay silent during those times when it appeared there were criminals running your government – to the extent that these criminals were were having family and friends jailed or murdered? How were you able to channel that frustration and rage that must have welled up? I mean, I know how I feel over the last 5 years because of what I feel about those in power in my country. I honestly don’t know how I would turn the other cheek if Bush and Cheney, et al were coming after Baha’is like they have Iraq.
These feelings have surprised me as they have grown over the years because as a Baha’I of 30+ years, I have taken pride in the non-violent stoicism of my brothers and sisters in Iran and the stories of heroic martyrdom. But now that I am faced with just the smallest hint of that kind of regime, I am failing the stoicism test and my sense of “wanting to do something” keeps getting stronger every day.
Please, I would love to hear a dialog on this question. I hope people feel it is appropriate for this forum.
Thank you Dave for bringing this up.

I have been searching online for
resources concerning the history of Baha’is in Or perhaps folks would like to
comment in this forum. Specifically, I am searching for guidelines on how
Baha’is, who are forbidden from participation in partisan politics,
should respond to a situation where evil men take evil actions that affect
millions. Yes, of course, I am talking about the gang of criminals who
have taken over in How, in the opinion of our erudite
members, should Baha’is respond to the situation in the world
today? And is anyone aware of any material relevant to Baha’is
under the Nazis? Dave in CA
