>Jesus gave no laws about working on the Sabbath. Please consider Luke 14:3-6. It's not stated in the manner of direct commands, like the Kitab-i-Aqdas, but Jesus is discussing the law of the Sabbath, and by His actions and words He is showing what the true law is.
"14:3 And Jesus answering spake unto the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath day? 14:4 And they held their peace. And he took him, and healed him, and let him go; 14:5 And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not straightway pull him out on the sabbath day? 14:6 And they could not answer him again to these things. (King James Bible, Luke) Dear Tim, What Jesus was doing in that passage was extending a well-known Pharisaic principle that matters of life and death take precedence over any other Law. The Pharisees might have held since if a person could be healed just as well after the sabbath one should wait until then. Jesus wasn't willing to make that distinction. warmest, Susan The information contained in this e-mail and any attachments thereto ("e-mail") is sent by the Johnson County Community College ("JCCC") and is intended to be confidential and for the use of only the individual or entity named above.
