These questions aren't directly related to Baha'i scholarship, but I hope they are close enough to warrant a response.
First of all, does anyone know information about Rashad Khalifa? I've found some cursory items from just browsing the net, but I'm looking for a little more info.
Second, is anyone aware of any healthy ecumenical movements that exist in Islam? When I say, "healthy," I say so meaning one in which people are accepting each other's differences as that and still trying to work together in some sort of united fashion (as opposed to Khalifa's version of Islam, which seems to portray Sunni and Shia as manmade fabrications and distortions).
I'm asking, because I have a friend who feels that the divisions in Islam shouldn't exist (that everyone should get along), but has been attracted to-what seems to me to be another version of divisiveness-Khalifa's work. Any thoughts?
