at another place on the web there is renewal of disussion of women/UHJ.
gven my normal go for the throat style of discourse, i am seeking to
understand the following, from the susan maneck.
:"The Kitab-i-Aqdas, the book that contains Baha'i sacred law was written in
Arabic, a language that by its nature requires the male gender to be used for
collectives. "

 ok.
when i ocean for instances where Baha'u'llah uses the phrase "o ye men" i get 5
times. four of them clearly agree with the idea that "mankind" is meant by men.
however, i also have :"We exhort the men of the House of Justice and command
them to ensure the protection and safeguarding of 70 men, women and children.

        (Baha'u'llah, Tablets of Baha'u'llah, p. 69)"
my question is ..what word is used for women, and which ofr children, and are
both of tmem masculine, since both are collective?
i have a vague memory of having read some place or other that the term o ye
men in english is expressed in different forms in arabic and farsi.
  any and all help appreciated.
thank u.
