'Abdu'l-Baha states that the 70-year Babylonian captivity ended in 536 BC.
I've always found this problematic, as history doesn't support a date 70
years earlier for the start of the Babylonian captivity. Christians have
'solved' the problem in more than one way. The Jehovah's Witnesses date the
Babylonian captivity to 607 BC, and other Christians claim what happened in
516 BC was supposed to be the end of the 70 years. Are Baha'is to reject
the 586 BC date for the Babylonian captivity?
Regards,
David
