There are some varying accounts as to the actual date 'Abdul-Baha addressed the
Congregational Church in Brooklyn, NY. One account from SOW (Stenographic notes
by Miss Esther Foster) placed this talk on June 15, 1912. Mahmud Zarqani's
Diary, PUP, and Star of the West have placed his talk on June 16, 1912. In the
translation of Mahmud's Zarqani's diary by Mohi Sobhani, it states that the
Brooklyn Eagle published 'Abdul-Baha's address on the FOLLOWING DAY. The
Brooklyn Library found this article in their archives. It was published in the
Brooklyn Daily Eagle (New York) on Monday June 17, 1912. The beginning of the
article says,"Abdul-Baha,the Persian teacher,who is said to have 2,000,000
followers, spoke in two Brooklyn churches through an interpreter YESTERDAY. In
the morning he was at the Flatbush Congregational Church, the Rev. Leon A.
Harvey, minister. In the evening he spoke in the Central Congregational Church,
the service being conducted by the pastor, the Rev. Dr. S. Parkes Cadman." So
it seems based on this information from the Brooklyn Public Library that
'Abdul-Baha's talk occurred on Monday June 16, 1912.
