Hi Prashanth !

Thanks for the valuable inputs.

No. I haven’t made a purchase yet. I decided not to give away the P150 as I
received advice from some of my friends. They think my P150 is a gem still at
its best both on economy and pickup and it is not worth giving away at prices
that are being quoted. Sounded like a lot of common sense to me. So I’ve
decided to retain it.

But the RTA thingy bothered me a lot and Road tax is becoming steep in the
coming days. Now I’ve worked out a deal with my younger brother who is a marine
engineer (who is on the high seas most parts of the year) to buy the Kawa in
his name. So I get to use it while he’s at Sea J. He’d be in town in a month
and that’s when we’re going to make the purchase.

Thanks again,

Jana

This is a late reply and you've probably made your buying
and selling decisions by now, but what the Bajaj Probiking
showroom in Hyderabad offered me for my 2003 Classic
Pulsar 180 (only 16800-odd kms to date) was 17500 which
I felt was really low. RTA work would cost an extra 1000.

OTOH if I kept the 180, RTA would levy 2-3% (of the Ninja's
value) additional road tax on me because I'm adding on a
second vehicle. I don't know if this is true only of AP or is
the case in other states as well.

So Bajaj PB seems to have some sort of an exchange
scheme although the company does not promote it. I think
each dealership has some local guy on board who deals
in used motorcycles.

Prashanth
