Although Hess says it will be requesting a permit for a 1280 in Sect 11 and 2 of Kandiyohi Twp, EOG has taken down it's stakes in Section 2 telling the farmer EOG doesn't like the looks for the formation, but to me it seems as thuogh EOG has decided to partner up with Hess for a 1280. I don't believe this has been permitted, but a Bobcat was at the proposed site a few days ago and did some dirt work. Drove by Grubb this morning and a work over rig is there and has been for the last week. No one knows what the problem is...some say the pump is being connected it...who knows! Talk around here is that Shorty is hisotry as an oil well, but is expected to be used as a water disposal well.
One other note...the EOG rep that visited with the farmer...said one factor in well site selection is the proximity to the county road so that oil could be piped to areas along the county road...interesting...seemed to me up until this point wells were drilled where the oil was and if there was no road...well one was built, but maybe times have changed.
