new comer here. call me durty ernie sorry about the spellin and slow typin. as far as landmen go, its not illegal to talk someone into giving you something. as soon as you sign on that dotted line its over. at the risk of being worked over myself by some of you, i have at least tried to give the landmen some justification in their practices. bankers, lawyers, used car salesmen and now ive experienced a new low, the landman. they have a tough job. simply trying to get a good deal on some mineral acres. i do confess i do not know how a landperson is paid, salary, %, hourly. i would appreciate some info on this. but i must say, some of you are relentless. and yes, i have spoke with some pretty good ones who didnt try to insult my intelegence. like any other field or occupation some are better than others. i was very lucky in many ways. i had a dad who always told me to ask ?s and find out about this or that. i asked around and got some good advise from unlikely places and realized i was being lied to terribly, threatened to be "taken down the hole and then you get your checkbook out" or"we'll just take our $ someplace else" or "i've been in this business for 30 years and have never heard of such a thing" or" my boss will never go for that" all to be called back, sometimes within 2 hours and told "yea,we'll give you that" sorry i'll shut up for a while, first time ya know. patience and killem with kindness. oh yea, no matter how ugly some got, they still left the door open. and OH YEA. I'M SMILLIN SO HARD AND WIDE THE TOP OF MY HEAD SHOULD FALL OF
