Federal lawsuit filed in huge saltwater spill Oct 27 2008 3:11PM Associated Press Eds: APNewsNow.
Bismarck, N.D. (AP) A rancher is suing an oil company over a pipeline rupture that twice spilled saltwater into a creek and land where she runs her cattle in northwestern North Dakota. Linda Monson was one of about a dozen ranchers affected by the saltwater spill near Alexander that was discovered in January 2006. The spill has been described as the worst in North Dakota's oil history. Monson says a similar spill occurred in August 2005 that was never reported to authorities. She is suing Zenergy, Inc., of Tulsa, Okla. Monson says only weeds grow where the saltwater spilled and her cattle refuse to drink water from the creek. She's seeking more than $75,000 in damages in federal court. --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Bakken Shale Discussion" group.
