1)an oil "show" can be anything from oil extracted from the cuttings
and examined under a microscope with a  black light (yellow
flouresence) to free oil coming up with the mud.  a shaker is just a
vibrating screen used to separate the drill cuttings from the mud.  i
assume "that oil shows over the shakers" means that free oil was
visible.
2) i dont think 20 frac stages means that they are drilling longer
laterals because they already drill the maximum lateral length within
the 1280 spacing unit.  separating the wellbore into smaller segments
results in more efficient frac'ing(better flow path from the natural
fractures to the wellbore). evidently, if they just use one frac
stage, the gel and sand will tend to propagate in one area, leaving
sections of the well unstimulated.

and imo, the jury is still out as to whether more frac stages will
result in better economics.
