CEO Mark Papa seemed more concerned about declining nat gas prices than declining oil prices. $7 seems to be the nat gas price level where they start restricting gas production.
EOG has leases and is driling wells nearly all in an area where the wells are economic even if oil prices dropped well below current prices. They seem happy with results from their first Burke TWP wells north of Austin or at least that is the drift of what was said. It will be interesting to see what happens with the Sidonia TWP well in the first row of townships inside Mountrail county.way on the north. They drilled one well in Vanville TWP in BUrke county still further north of the Sidonia well, but they have not returned there Its a bunch of the OTHER players that are in the more marginal (aka crude price sensitive) areas. Meanwhile on the south side of the field the Major 43 pre-rig is off of Fertile 5-4H and has moved up to Burke TWP to do more initial drilling and good old Nabors 337 is scheduled to go in to finish that well once it gets done on the current Van Hook twp well it is drilling just to the north of ND 23 on the road to New Town. Nabors 337 has been all over on the southern edge of the Parshall field, and last summer drilled Fertile 4-5H just west of the new Fertile 5-4H where it will move next. Confusing names for Fertile wells, huh? My dad and I used to measure crops in Fertile TWP for ASCS when I was in HS. No late or updated word on where good old Pioneer 57 will be hanging out next, currently drilling on the section immediately north of where Nabors 337 has neen drilling along ND 23 also in Van Hook twp. These two rigs have been hanging out in close proximity to each other, having drilled Shirley 17H and Hovda 8H at the same time as well These are my two favorite rigs, and I watch where they go hawk- like. While I am not there, in my mind's eye I can see exactly how all of this must look.
