Hard to say what may have made them move 2 rigs to Billings and Golden Valley Ctys, but lease expirations and plans made months before those wells came online are but a few. Whiting in their 2nd Qtr conf call said they would have 9 rigs running by end of year. We have gone from about 80 rigs at that time to 95 right now on the Active Drilling list. Lots of companies that said they were expanding their rig fleet have not added any rigs, but the moving 2 rigs out of Mountrail did make me think they may be adding 1 or 2 rigs soon. After the results for Kinnoin and Richardson-Federal, I would be thankful that Whiting is going to drill the wells instead of some of the other operators in the area. In 2-5 years, I hope that you(and the in-laws!) will look on this time as a patience test that was more than worth it. It will happen and is just a matter of time, production numbers and price of oil. And the real test of patience will be from the time they complete the well to the time the first check comes in the mail.
