Setelah 2 jam ngobrol bareng dengan tim wigo Balikpapan berikut
beberapa
hints yang dapat kita share buat temen2 :
1. Teknologi wimax seperti yg sudah sama diketahui adalah
enhanced fixed
wireless technology yang menjanjikan layanan data pita lebar dengan
kapasitas broadband yg harapannya dapat menyamai layanan
teknologi kabel
dengan area jangkauan lebih baik [saat ini layanan broadband
hanya dapat
dinikmati dengan perantara kabel copper/FO]
2. Wigo sebagai salah satu pemegang lisensi wimax indonesia memiliki
area kerja untuk sumatra, kalimantan, sulawesi bali& nusa tenggara
3. Dalam masa uji coba saat ini pihak wigo sudah menggelar jaringan
wimax di beberapa lokasi di BPN, memang belum semua area tercover
[http://wigo.co.id/Tools/Coverage.aspx] tetapi mereka berjanji
dengan
bertambahnya permintaan pelanggan maka area layanan akan juga
diperluas,
bagi yang berminat mencoba teknologi wimax silahkan datang saja
di wigo
centre.
4. Seperti sudah diketahui layanan wimax adalah layanan broaband
access
dengan teknologi wireless, hanya saja harus di bedakan dengan
teknologi
mobile, karena peruntukan teknologi ini bukan untuk pengguna mobile
seperti layanan 3g, mereka fokus di fixed wireless artinya saat
menggunakan layanan ini user tidak disarankan untuk mobile,
mesikipun
juga user dapat berpindah2 dilokasi berbeda dimana layanan ini
tersedia,
aplikasi tepatnya adalah untuk perumahan yang tidak dijangkau
broadband
cable, community camp, warnet, cafe hotspot, rt-rw net dan fixed
wireless lainnya.
5. sampai akhir pembicaraan, kami belum bisa mendapat informasi
harga
layanan ini, tapi dalam waktu dekat / awal q1 2010 layanan ini sudah
siap dipasarkan untuk umum, mereka berjanji harga yang
ditawarkan sangat
menarik, sesuai dengan kualitas layanan yang dijanjikan.
6. dari usb donggle yang diuji-cobakan wigo menggaransi
bandwidth yang
di provide adalah 3Mbps Downstream dan 1Mbps Upstream [ hmm.. sangat
nyaman untuk pencinta youtube he he he..]
