Kami diminta bantuan untuk mengumumkan tersedianya beasiswa bagi para guru
sekolah menengah untuk mengikut program pelatihan selama satu semester di
Amerika tahun 2007. Persyaratan bahasa Inggris adalah nilai TOEFL 500 (boleh
International, Institutional maupun TOEFL Prediction Score yg dikeluarkan oleh
lembaga yang bonafid/dikenal luas) atau IELTS 5.0. Formulir pendaftaran dapat
diperoleh dari AMINEF atau di-download dari situs web www.irex.org.
Perlu dicatat pendaftaran ditutup tgl. 2 JUNI 2006, jadi waktunya mempet sekali.

PROGRAM ANNOUNCEMENT: The Government of the United States of America is pleased
to announce the International Educators Program (IEP)
The International Educators Program is a new program of the Bureau of
Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State, and is
administered by IREX (the International Research & Exchanges Board), a
Washington, DC based nonprofit organization. IEP will provide 56 teachers from
the Near East, South Asia, and Southeast Asia with unique opportunities to
develop expertise in their subject areas, enhance their teaching skills and
increase their knowledge about the United States. The program will consist of a
semester-long academic program at a U.S. university, including coursework and
intensive training in teaching methodologies, curriculum writing, teaching
strategies for their home environment, educational leadership, as well as the
use of computers for Internet, word processing and as tools for teaching. The
semester-long program, which will commence in January 2007 and conclude in June
2007, will also include an 8-week internship at a secondary school to engage
participants actively with the American teachers and students. Trips to U.S.
cultural sites and academic support will be provided for participants
throughout the program.
The fellowship provides J-1 visa support, round-trip airfare from the
participant's home city to and within the U.S., academic program fees, accident
and sickness insurance, housing (generally shared with other program
participants), daily allowance for meals and incidentals, transportation
allowance for travel to school internship (if necessary), one laptop computer;
and a book/ professional development allowance.
