Baby Yoga
Baby yoga is useful for enhancing the bond between a new baby and older
siblings, grandparents, other family members, and nannies. No experience is
ncessary to share yoga and its benefits with a baby
About Us
We choose the name Rumah Yoga because rumah in Indonesian means house or
home. A place that gives harmony and warmth. A place that unifies
strengthening mind, body and soul. We have two studios and qualified
teachers offering many different styles.
Level
Gentle
This class is for beginners and those who want gentle movement or easier
poses.
Beginners
This is class for beginners or those who have never taken yoga. Beginner
level classes are designed to increase flexibility, strength and raise
awareness of the connection between mind, body and breath
General
One level above the beginning class, designed for those who have taken yoga
before and wish to increase skills.
Intermediate
A level for those who have practiced yoga for several years. For students
with flexibility and strenght.
Style
Hatha
The word Hatha is a combination of two Sanskrit words. Ha or Sun and Tha or
Moon. One of the meanings of Hatha is union of opposites. This practice
combines yoga postures or asanas along with pranayama breath work, and
meditation to create a union of mind and body. There is variation in style
and technique depending upon the tradition from which the instructor comes
as well as their own inspiration and experimentation
Iyenggar
BKS. Iyenggar is one of the most prominent teachers of modern yoga. A
student of Kishnamacharya, he lives, studies and taught in Pune, India.
Iyenggar practice emphasizes proper alignment in each posture for balance
and strength. Iyenggar yoga is distinctive from other forms of yoga for its
exstensive use of props to assist the practitioner in maximizing their
abilities in each posture.
Ashtanga
Sri K. Pattabhi, along with Iyenggar, is one of the grandfathers of modern
yoga. He developed Ashtangga yoga in Mysore, India after studying with
Krishnamacharya. Ashtanga yoga is similar to Hatha yoga, with many of the
same postures, but in a strict and intense sequence.
Vinayasa/Yoga Flow
Similar to Ashtanga and Hatha styles, this is series of yoga postures or
asanas practiced in rhythmic flow with the breath.
Yogalates
A union of yoga and pilates designed to strengthening musculo skeletal
structure; strengthening the backs, stabilizing pelvis, pelvic floor, abs
(post natal), arthritis, osteoporosis, general tone and fitness creating a
sense of inner calm health and well being.
Manasa Yoga
Manasa yoga is a practice of Hatha yoga with a particular focus on the mind
"Manas" (in Sanscrit) to be absolutely involved into the physical exercises.
This yoga style was created by two teachers from Kenala, India - Manoj
Kaimal and Sandhya Manoj - who are now based in Malaysia.
The practice interweaves the elementsof techniques of different gurus :
Swami Sivananda, Iyenggar and Pattabhi Yois (Ashtangga Vinyasa)to increase
body strength and flexibility and to give the prectitioners a peace of mind.
