“We resolutely deny the scenarios of “democratic change” of the political elites which are undesirable for the West. All these “colour revolutions” are not revolutions. This is banditry under the veneer of democracy. The Belarusian people had enough of these “revolutions” last century”, president of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko stated April 19 when delivering the annual message to the Belarusian people and the National Assembly. Some circles in the West, including those from a number of the neighboring states, try to undertake destructive activities among the Belarusian Poles even through the Catholic Church. “But they do not seem to cope with the work well”, the president believes. According to him the same kind of activities are carried out in the Polesye and are also unsuccessful. The residents of the Polesye are the most solid foundation of our country, Alexander Lukashenko noted. He claimed unworthy of such a great nation as the United States the statements that the Belarusian president supposedly possesses foreign accounts. “For three years now that they have been looking for the accounts. The more they throw stones at me the less the Belarusians believe them”. “It is possible that our independence is undesirable for some countries. However, we are not going to renounce it”, Alexander Lukashenko stated. According to him, the West allocated considerable funds for the information pressure of Belarus. “We can counteract this only by telling the truth”. Those, who speak about the lack of democracy in Belarus, fail to ensure the democracy themselves, Alexander Lukashenko considers. “The systematic violations at the presidential elections in the USA and referendums on the EU accession by new members testify to the fact”.
