That's cool! Git master has code for managing such a filter, with the
capability of setting both the background and foreground colors
(foreground is an easy add-on, once the basic machinery is in place). It
passes minimal testing, but probably has many rough edges--usual
disclaimers apply!
Filters are applied only to recent messages, so as implemented this will
color only these (a message is "recent" in the first session in which it
is found in a mailbox). Colorizing older messages would require more
substantial changes, and could /really/ slow down opening a mailbox.
