As anticipated, the GdkThreads API is deprecated in Gtk version 3.6. This will not affect building from a tarball, until the functions are actually removed. However, building from git will be possible only with threads disabled, until we find a solution to some thread locking problems.
The gtk3 branch will now build and run with threads disabled. Getting it to build with threads enabled is feasible, but moving all display updates to the main thread is a challenge. Discussion and patches are all welcome! Best, Peter
