The Status and X-Status headers are used only in the LibBalsaMailboxMbox back-end, and are ignored in the others. For maildir, the flags are stored differently: the file name is appended with 'F', 'S', 'R', or 'T', according to \Flagged, \Seen, \Answered, and \Deleted.
Well, that solves the unasked (but long thought) question of how those names get made up. Now just out of curiosity, why use different letters?
